Day 172 – Work boots

Picked up some hard toe boots for the kid tonight – he starts his new job on Monday.

No, this is not his boot….but I’d like to see the size of the person who wears it! I feel that I should get a discount on shoes – why is a shoe/boot the same price whether it fits my foot or a giant’s?

 

We also treated ourselves to supper out at Sims.  The boys really enjoyed the melt-in-your-mouth tenderloin steaks.

They gave us free dessert because after they seated us, they kinda forgot about us.  Our server was very attentive once they realized the mistake. I had the sticky date pudding with Cows ice cream.  I may have to run 24 hours straight just to wear it off!

Day 171 – Cold

Um, ok, so it is really cold out considering tomorrow is the first day of summer.

But is that a snowplow??!!

I hope the guy in the middle does not plan to go anywhere soon.

Day 170 – Nerds, bushes and tea

Pretty random title tonight.  But hey, this is what I saw today.

Thought this was interesting.  I don’t know what the nerds do, but they are local nerds apparently (with Ontario plates).

Any ideas what this tree/bush might be called?  I think I want one.

This is awesome!  I go through a lot of Mango Fruit Punch iced tea…so glad they now sell the 250 g can.  The small one just was not big enough for this tea which contains large chunks of dried fruit.

Day 169 – Garbage

Seems like a weird place for a garbage bin.

How did they even get that up there – and why?

Day 168 – Ropes and lupins

Soooo, I am sitting at my desk today, which happens to be right beside my window, and suddenly these ropes fall down and kinda freak me out.

It got really awkward when buddy was suddenly in my window with his legs spread on either side of the concrete, cleaning the window.  I decided to go make tea then.

I also learned a little lesson about lupins tonight.  They look much better outside than inside.

I cut some stems from the garden, took them into the kitchen, laid them on the counter, got my vase out, and proceeded to begin cutting the ends…..only to realize my counter was covered in bugs!!

This does not look like much, but see the whitish green specs?  There were hundreds of creepy crawly things on my counter from the flowers. All over the entire counter.  SO much grossness. I hope I got them all.

Day 167 – Trees

I am very excited about these little spruce trees.

We have a tree line behind our house with a field beyond that but a developer is soon going to build duplexes, townhouses and single family homes.  So I am going to plant these little trees on the other side of the tree line for some privacy (it is the north eastern side so they won’t shadow the rest of the tree line).

I bought 4 blue spruce and 8 white….unfortunately, they all look the same when they are this size. Hopefully I did not put all the blue ones together.

Day 166 – Father’s Day!

Another lazy Sunday……

She only gets up to eat….and change spots.

Dude – you kinda missed the line.  At least he stopped at the red light – I don’t think he was planning to until the last minute.

Day 165 – Fun Run

Hubby participated in the Delta Ware fun run today. I was only there for moral support. My ankle/foot is bothering me…and I don’t really do rain or early morning runs.  Yes, 9am is early morning on a Saturday.

Hubby also pointed out this cool picture.

He is much better at noticing interesting shots.

Day 164 – Peter Pan

Noticed a sign on the Peter Pan property….”something” is coming soon.  I could not see what is coming.

I haven’t eaten here in years, but everyone knows this as the Peter Pan corner…what will we call this intersection when the familiar landmark is gone?

Day 163 – It’s my birthday!

Spent my birthday off-site working – such a beautiful view!

 

After all the big bosses gave me cake and sang happy birthday, I headed back to my room to enjoy this…

I really need to get one of these at home.
